Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) at Montclair State University, housed within the Office of Information Technology, serves all segments of the University community, including faculty, staff, administrators, and students. This is accomplished through the collection, maintenance, analysis, and interpretation of information required for both planning and the assessment of institutional effectiveness, as well as through the dissemination of reports and summary findings.

OIR serves other audiences, as well, through its external reporting functions. Among these are various agencies of federal, state, and local government; organizations and individuals representing the higher education community; for- and not-for-profit entities that gather, repackage, and distribute information about higher education (e.g., college guidebooks); and members of the general public.
