In the Spotlight - October 2004

The Montclair State University edTeXpo Annual Conference will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. in the Student Center, Ballrooms A and B. The morning program at this year's conference will focus on Internet2 [i2] and the implications of instructional video conferencing and collaboration tools made possible by Montclair State's high speed network and NJEDge.net's state-wide, high-speed network. NJEDge.net provides MSU's connectivity to the i2 network. The main speaker will be Jennifer MacDougall, Applications Coordinator at MAGPI GigaPOP at the University of Pennsylvania. To demonstrate the power of i2 , Ms. MacDougall is inviting i2 colleagues from across the nation to join us in a live videoconference to discuss how i2 is being used in specific disciplines. The program will take place in Memorial Auditorium. The lunch speaker will be David Pogue, the personal-technology columnist for The New York Times. Mr. Pogue will be speaking on the subject, “The Digital Generation Comes Of Age.”
