Equipment Loans |

Equipment from the loan pool must be
reserved 2-3 business days in advance by reserving at the Help Desk in
person or by contacting University Help Desk at x7971. The equipment can be pick up
during normal business hours in University Hall, Fifth Floor.
Only a faculty, staff, or an on-campus GA is allowed to reserve a
Data Projector, Camcorder, Video Projector, PA System, Karaoke unit, and
a Mobile Presentation System (MPS).
A student that needs to reserve (2-3 business days in advance)

Projector, PA System, Karaoke unit, and a Mobile Presentation System,
s/he must get a Montclair
State University's stationery letter typed from a faculty/staff and the
letter must state their name, ID number, and the reservation date of the
equipment.
Camcorders
Faculty
and Graduate Assistants may borrow VHS camcorders to video tape their
classes. The VHS camcorders are simple to operate and the TSS/AV
Services will
provide training by appointment. Faculty may also arrange for
students to reserve and borrow camcorders under their name by e-mail or
by letter
on University stationery. TSS can also recommend the purchase of digital
camcorders.
Network Connections
The University Help Desk (x7971)
will make arrangements or confirmation for network
connections. They will forward these requests to
the appropriate Information Technology group. Computers may need to be
configured for a particular room or building. Please plan for rehearsal
time at least a day before your event for special presentations with
computers, data projections, network connections, and telephone lines.
Please have a contingency plan.
Contingency Planning
Even with a rehearsal, hardware, software and network connections
can fail. If
you are using the Internet, have a simulation on your laptop or DVD in
case the network fails. If
possible, have a video or a related topic.
Laptops
& Data Projectors
A limited number laptops and data projectors are available for presentations. Equipment may be borrowed over night and returned
the next day, or on a Friday and return on Monday morning. Students may
borrow this equipment for classroom presentations with a memo from a
professor on university stationery or via E-Mail. Equipment can
be put on reserve by emailing the University Help Desk,
helpdesk@mail.montclair.edu
This equipment can be picked up during normal business hours.
