Net ID Quick Guide
Your MSU NetID is your electronic identification to access a series of resources on the Montclair State University Campus. Some to these resources are access to your MSU Email, the RMS System, Parking Services and etc.

How do I sign up for my NetID?
1. To be eligible for a NetID, you must be registered for classes for your up-coming or current semester.
2. The NetID account form can be found at http://netid.montclair.edu
3. Log into the proper section with your ID number and PIN number. If you forget your PIN number, you will need to contact the registrar office at 973 655-4376 or log on to http://wfs.montclair.edu. Student login can be found on the left hand side. Your ID number will be your Campus Wide ID number (CWID). This is the same login number you use for Web Enrollment Services for Students (WESS).
4. Once you log in to the NetID account form, you will have to agree to the guidelines for responsible computing. Scroll to the bottom of this page and type in “YES”.
5. On the next page you will be asked to set your NetID password. You password must meet the following conditions.
a. Only Alpha-numeric characters are allowed.
b. The total length must be a Minimum of 8 characters
c. The password must contain a Minimum of 2 numeric characters
6. Once you see the confirmation page, showing that you have successfully created your NetID. Please note that it may take 1 business day for certain NetID related services to take effect.
I can't log-in to my e-mail / blackboard / RMS, what can I do?
In order to reset your password, please fill out the NetID Account Form found below. This process is automated and can take up to 24 hours to complete. If you are still experiencing issues after resetting your password, please contact the Help Desk at 973-655-7971.
1. The NetID account form can be found at http://netid.montclair.edu
2. Log into the proper section with your ID number and PIN number. If you forget your PIN number, you will need to contact the registrar office at 973 655-4376
a. Faculty login can be found on the right. Your ID number will be your Social Security number.
b. Student login can be found on the left. Your ID number will be your Campus Wide ID number (CWID). This is the same login number you use for Web Enrollment Services for Students (WESS).
3. Once you log in to the NetID account form, you will have to agree to the guidelines for responsible computing. Scroll to the bottom of this page and type in “YES”.
On the next page you will have a few options. Select “Change the password of my NetID account” and click “continue”.
Type in your password, and again in the confirm box. Then click “Change the password to my NetID account”
Once you see the confirmation page, showing that you have successfully changed your password, you should be able to login to NetID services.
